Sharif Naidhajavovich Sharifov (Russian: Шарип Наибгаджавович Шарипов, Azerbaijani: Şərif Şərifov; born November 11, 1988 in Gunukh, Charodinsky District, Dagestan) is a Russian-Azerbaijani male wrestler of Avar descent. Sharifov finished first in the world championship and won bronze in the European championship.[1] In 2012 Summer Olympics Sharif Sharifov won Olympic wrestling gold medal in 84-kilogram freestyle after defeating Puerto Rican Jaime Espinal.[2]

He won a bronze at the 2016 Olympics. He beat Bi Shengfeng and Zbigniew Baranowski before losing to Abdulrashid Sadulaev. Because Sadulaev reached the final, Sharifov was entered into the bronze medal repechage where he beat Pedro Ceballos in his bronze medal match.[3]
