Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Bentong (SMAP Bentong) or usually known as SUPERB (derived from Sekolah Ugama PERsekutuan Bentong) (Arabic: المعهد الإسلامي الفدرالي بنتوغ; English: Bentong Federal Islamic Secondary School) is the seventh Fully Residential School or Sekolah Berasrama Penuh located in Pahang Darul Makmur. It is also the first Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan (SMAP) established in Pahang and the third in Malaysia after Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Labu and Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Kajang. Furthermore, Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Bentong was the first Sekolah Berasrama Penuh and the pioneer school that implementing the 'Tahfiz Model Ulul Albab' (TMUA) Program by Ministry of Education (Malaysia) since 2014 where the students will undergo Tahfiz program along 5 year of studies, in which this program will be integrated with their academics.[1] With the status of 'SBP Tahfiz Model Ulul Albab', SMAP Bentong aimed to produce professional young and proactive al-huffaz students with excellent academic and outstanding co-curriculum result. This program will be followed by several chosen SBP after its first implementation in SMAP Bentong.

History

The construction of SM Agama Persekutuan Bentong started on 10 April 2008 was completed in October 2011 with the total cost of RM 56.6 million. The school was built on a 40 acres land which was a perfect place to make the school, built with modern infrastructure and convenient technologies. SMAP Bentong was fully operated at Jun 11 2012 with the help of the earliest teachers and staffs to arrive ( 20 teachers & 8 staffs). 11 Jun 2012 was one of the historical days for SMAP Bentong as it was the registration day for the earliest batch (EON 99') to arrive and stayed at SM Agama Persekutuan Bentong. Later on the following year, SM Agama Persekutuan Bentong received two more batches which was named as Predominate 1317 and Valours 1314.Together,with the energy of three batches, SMAP Bentong had received several awards and certificates throughout the year such as first runner up for the Fully Residential Schools International Symposium, Hari Kecemerlangan Sekolah Berasrama Penuh and others. Amazingly, SMAP Bentong's Mahallah was bestowed the "Platinum Award" by the Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) during the Hari Kecemerlangan Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (HKSBP) event due to its ability in providing a conducive, systematic and clean hostel for students.

Location

SMAP Bentong was built in a small town called Mempaga (FELDA Mempaga) which was a bit far away from the town (The nearest town is Bentong which was 30 minutes by bus and Karak). The geographical location of SMAP Bentong really makes the school a very convenient and comfortable place for students to study as the area of the school is filled with beautiful and mesmerizing view of hills and oil palm trees. Due to its location, the students also find out that the school compound is a quiet, serene and relaxing place to study and memorizing quranic verses. Latitude: 3.5326 Longitude: 101.973279

School Symbol

"Melangkaui Kecemerlangan" or in English "Exceeding Excellence". It means the school is above the excellence in both academic and curricular achievements. The current and the latest School Symbol is "SUPERB Unggul Pencetus Reformasi Berintegriti", which constituted the school's acronym itself, "SUPERB".

SM Agama Persekutuan Bentong (SUPERB) highlighted 3 main principles of life which are AGAMA (RELIGION/FAITH), ILMU (KNOWLEDGE)and AMAL (GOOD DEEDS). The integration between these three elements is vital in order to be an excellent person in both 'duniawi' and 'ukhrawi'

Reflecting the colour of the state of Pahang Darul Makmur, as the school itself located in the district of Bentong , one of the districts of the Pahang.

  • Kitab and Rehal

The image of Al-Quran reflects the school itself as one of the religious school and the third Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan (SMAP) in Malaysia.It can also reflect the school as the pioneer of 'Ulul Albab' program by Ministry of Education (Malaysia). In addition, the image can also be viewed as a book, that shows knowledge is an important pillar toward success.

  • Atomic symbol

Reflecting the integration of modernization, sciences, technologies and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in studies to enable students to be more competitive and productive at both national and international stage.

  • Ivory (Gading)

Showing the hopes and aspirations of the students to pursue their studies until university, or so called 'menara gading' in Malay. It also reflects the spirituality, strength, optimism and the quality of the students. It also reflects Pahang as it the symbol of the state.

it means religion and faith is very essential for human being as the vicegerent (caliph) of Allah. It shall be the core and the priority of every human in this world. The element of knowledge (ilmu) is also essential for every Muslim, as it is fardu 'ayn and obligatory for every Muslim to seek knowledge in their life. There shall be integration between religion (AGAMA) and the knowledge itself so that it can be developed successfully for the sake of Allah and for the sake of the ummah.

Tahfiz Model Ulul Albab (TMUA)

Tahfiz Model Ulul Albab (TMUA) that has been implemented in SMAP Bentong since 2014 is a combination between the National Curriculum (Kurikulum Kebangsaan), Tahfiz Integrated Curriculum or Kurikulum Bersepadu Tahfiz (KBT) and co-curricular with 3 approaches as described below:[2]

* Quranic Approach

Method that enable the students to memorize 30 chapters (juzu') of the Quran and understand its contents based on BIFFAS concept (Baca, Ingat, Faham, Fikir, Amal dan Sebar) over a period of five (5) years of studies in secondary school.

* Encyclopaedic Approach

This method provides a foundation for students to master various sciences and languages, highly skilled and able to act as a source of reference to their peers.

* Ijtihadik Approach

A method to produce students who able to voice out views and opinions to solve problems, and maximize the ability of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) creatively and innovatively. Students are given the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities, which is equivalent to the capacity of the school, such as horse riding, swimming and archery

The implementation of the Tahfiz Model Ulul Albab (TMUA) in the chosen schools, under the supervision of the Education Ministry, is expected to produce 10,920 students who are able to memorise all 30 chapters of the Quran by 2021.[3] The TMUA will also indirectly provide an alternative to parents who want their children to be an al-hafiz but also hold professional posts.[4]

All students will be divided into these four houses. The achievement of the Houses will be counted and measured with 4 Elements which are Academics, Curricular, Cleanliness (3K- Kebersihan, Keceriaan dan Keselamatan) and discipline. And at the end of every year, a grand feast will be held (Malam Lailatul-Mutafawwiqin) as a closing ceremony for the year.During the feast, the awards for the best academics, best curricular, best cleanliness, best discipline and the best house of the year will be held as achievement for the houses throughout the year.

Main Office (Pejabat Utama) Houses the Principal Room, Senior Assistant (Administrative and Curriculum) Room, Senior Assistant (Students Affairs) Room, Senior Assistant (Co-curricular) Room, Head of Departments Room and Conference Room.
Mahallah (Hostel) Two (2) big Mahallah provided to the students, Mahallah Uwais Al-Qarni for male students and Mahallah Aishah Al-Humaira for female students
Office of the Mahallah's Supervisor (Pejabat Penyelia Asrama) located at the ground floor of Mahallah Uwais al-Qarni, the office is used for the mahallah administration, residential and students' welfare purposes.
Dining Hall (Dar Al-Ni'amah) A multi purpose dining hall, separated eating-area between male and female. The centre of the dining hall is used for prestigious events such as Lailah Al-Mutafawwiqin (Annual Grand Dinner), or any annual high tables for respective houses.
Surau (Raudhah Al-Falihin) SUPERB's students are obliged to perform five congregational prayers a day at the surau. It is also used for religious and spiritual enhancement activities.
Teacher's Houses (Kuarters Guru) houses provided for teachers and staffs
Warden's Houses (Rumah Warden) an apartment-alike house for mahallah's wardens that is attached to the students mahallah.
Prime Hall (Dewan Perdana SUPERB) a big hall for school events or any big and formal events such as Graduation Event (Majlis Graduasi) for form 5 students, Majlis Anugerah Kecemerlangan (MAKA) and others.
Open Hall (Dewan Terbuka) Serves as an alternative to the Prime/Main Hall. Usually it will be used for events such as academics talks, school programs, students meetings, co-curricular activities and any informal events.
Grand Stand (ASTAKA) A mini stadium located at the school's main field and being used for sports events or others such as Merentas Desa, Hari Sukan Sekolah and other sports and recreational activities.
Courts (for sports) Basketball courts, Netball courts, Futsal Courts, Tennis courts and Badminton courts.
School Canteen (Cafe) provide students foods and beverages during recess
Computer Lab (ICT Lab) A fully air-conditioner area, have wifi coverage for students enhancement.
Laboratories Many science laboratories such as Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab and Biology Lab for sciences learning
Tahfiz Excellence Centre provide for tahfiz and ulul albab enhancement programs
Counselling and Guidance Room provide psychological therapy, learning advice and guidance for students especially for their prospective career.
Leadership Room (Bilik Kepimpinan Pelajar) provide meeting and discussion room for students bodies such as Lembaga Pengawas and Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya (PRS).
Conference Room (Meeting Room) It is the main meeting room located at the school's office. It provides a conducive, fully air-conditioned conference room for school's teachers, staffs and formal visitors
Recreation Room (Bilik Rekreasi/Istirehat) A big room provided at the respective Mahallah for students to have rest especially during weekends. Television had been provided at this room to allow the students to watch multimedia entertainment.
Wellness Room (Bilik Kesihatan)A specialized room that provide wellness and treatment facilities. Doctors and nurses from nearby hospital/clinics sometimes visited the school for school-based health programs such as dental-check program, vaccinations and blood donation program.
SUPERB Square (Dataran Perhimpunan) located at the centre of the academic complex for daily assembly or any big events such as Lailah Al-Mutafawwiqin
