Seeta Rama Jananam (Telugu: సీతారామ జననం) is a 1944 Telugu Mythological film, produced and directed by Ghantasala Balaramaiah under the Pratibha Productions banner. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Tripurasundari, Vemuri Gaggaiah and Rushyendramani in the lead roles, with music jointly composed by Prabhala Satyanarayana and Ogirala Ramachandra Rao[1] The film is the debut of famous veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao as hero and also to the legendary music director & singer Ghantasala as a chorus singer and in a character role.[2]

Plot

The film traces the Ramayana from the time Dasaratha (T. Venkateswarlu) kills the son of a blind couple, long before Lord Rama (ANR) is born, to the time the wedding of Seeta (Tripurasundari) is performed. The story included roles of Vasishta (Parupalli Sathyanarayana), Kausalya (Rushyendramani), Sumithra (Annapurna) and Kaika (Kamala Kotnis), Vedavati (Chandrakala), Ravana and Parasurama (Vemuri Gaggaiah played both roles), Mandodari (Kamakshi), Sukracharya (Koteswara Rao), Janaka (Parupalli Subbarao), Viswamithra (Balijepalli Lakshmikantham), Lakshmana (B. N. Raju).
