Second Act is an upcoming American romantic comedy film directed by Peter Segal and written by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Justin Zackham. It stars Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Hudgens, Leah Remini, Annaleigh Ashford, Dan Bucatinsky, Freddie Stroma, Milo Ventimiglia, Treat Williams and Larry Miller, and follows an under-achieving 40-year-old mother who gets a second chance at a corporate career after creating a fake Facebook page. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 14, 2018.
Premise
Stuck in a low-paying job, a woman gets a chance to fulfill her career ambitions when a private finance firm is misled into believing that she's an accomplished consultant and hire her to handle a major business deal.

Production
In June 2017, Jennifer Lopez signed on to star.[1] In October 2017, Leah Remini, Annaleigh Ashford, Vanessa Hudgens, Dan Bucatinsky and Freddie Stroma joined the cast of the film.[2][3][4][5] In November 2017, Milo Ventimiglia, Treat Williams, Larry Miller, Dave Foley, Charlyne Yi and Alan Aisenberg joined the cast of the film.[6][7][8][9][10]
Filming
Principal photography began on October 23, 2017, in Queens, New York[11] and has continued in The Bronx and Manhattan, including Michael Jordan's Steakhouse in Grand Central Terminal.[12] Filming wrapped on December 15, 2017.[13]
Release
Second Act was initially scheduled to be released in the United States by STXfilms on November 21, 2018, but in September 2018, following "incredible" test screenings, it was moved to December 14, 2018.[14]
Music
On September 21, 2018, Sia was announced as the composer for the original song "Limitless" produced by Jesse Shatkin and performed by Jennifer Lopez. On October 9, 2018, Jennifer Lopez gave a soaring and impactful live debut of "Limitless", at the American Music Awards, it opened with a voiceover that said "The only thing stopping you...is YOU" and a poem from writer Jasmin Kaur on the screen that read: "Scream, so that one day a hundred years from now, another sister will not have to dry her tears, wondering where in history she lost her voice" [15]
