Saphan Mai (Thai: สะพานใหม่, pronounced [sā.pʰāːn màj]) is a marketplace and neighbourhood in north Bangkok mainly in Anusawari sub-district, Bang Khen district and some part in Khlong Thanon sub-district, Sai Mai district. The Saphan Mai area covers two sides of Phahonyothin road, about 3.0 km (1.8 mi) from south, Anusawari Lak Si Circle to ends at the north, Saphan Sukoranakhaseni which is the bridge spans Khlong Song or Khlong Thanon and connected Bang Khen, Sai Mai and Don Mueang districts.[1]

The name Saphan Mai meaning "New Bridge", that is a term used by locals to call for Saphan Sukoranakhaseni (สะพานสุกรนาคเสนีย์) to replace the damaged old bridge.

The main market in Saphan Mai area is Talat Saphan Mai (ตลาดสะพานใหม่), also known as Talat Ying Charoen (ตลาดยิ่งเจริญ) a large wet market founded by Suwapee Thammawattana, a businesswoman opened on August 11th, 1955 with an area of approx. 30 rais (round about 11 acres), this can be compared to Pak Khlong Talat within inner Bangkok.[2]
