Sankar Nagar is a panchayat town in Tirunelveli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Thalaiyuthu, also known as Sankar Nagar, is a small suburb of Tirunelveli about 8 km north of the city on the Tirunelveli-Madurai National Highway. It is popularly called as Sankar Nagar because of the Sankar Cement factory which initiated settlement in the area. ICL ground, Two higher secondary school - Sankar higher secondary school and SJSSGJ Matriculation higher secondary school. 4 cotton mills at the Sankar Nagar and one government morden rice mill.
