Sankarapuram
Sankarapuram is a Town Panchayat of Villupuram district in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Its old name was Azhagapuram. sankarapuram is the 6th largest city in villupuram District and most developing town near Kallakurichi. It is the Head of Sankarapuram taluk.

Airport: The nearest domestic airport is in Salem, but this airport is currently not in use. Chennai, Coimbatore and Trichy are the nearest international airports.
Tourism
Sankarapuram is nearer to Kalrayan Hills. Proximity of clouds fall near the peak of Vellimalai hilltop is a popular tourist spot for locals during the monsoon season. Vellimalai is a pristine unexplored location. The hills range in height from 2700 feet to 3000 feet and extend over an area of 1,095 square kilometres (423 sq mi).
