Sangeeta Lakshmi is a 1966 Telugu, drama film, produced by P. Narasimha Rao, Amara Ramasubba Rao on Seetaramanjaneya Pictures banner[2] and directed by Giduturi Suryam.[3] Starring N. T. Rama Rao, Jamuna in the lead roles and music composed by Saluri Rajeswara Rao.[4]

Plot

Colonel Kondala Rao (S. V. Ranga Rao) retired army officer lives with his wife Jayamma (Nirmalamma) and only daughter Radha (Jamuna) a well-known musician. Venu (N. T. Rama Rao) is also a musician lives in the same town. Once Radha and Venu participate in a competition and Venu gets first prize. Radha expresses her desires of learning music from Venu and makes his father to convince Venu. During that time they love each other. Kondala Rao wants to make Radha's marriage with his nephew Anand (Nagabhushanam). But Anand is already in love with Nalini (L. Vijaya Lakshmi) a dancer. Anand performs the marriage of Radha & Venu without knowledge of his uncle Kondala Rao with the help of a drama company owner Govindaiah (Ramana Reddy) and his wife Kantam (Suryakantham). Kondala Rao gets angry, doesn’t allow his daughter to enter his house, same stubborn Radha also will not go to her father’s house. After that Venu could not earn much money with music performances, so, Anand asks him to sing in Nalini ’s dance programmes but Radha did not agree for this. Then the clashes arise in between them.

After some time, Radha & Venu are blessed with a baby girl named as Lakshmi. They go into deep financial problems, so, Venu goes abroad with Nalini. Radha doubts of Venu’s return. She decides to stand on her own, leaving the baby with her parents she reaches Hyderabad. Venu gets misunderstandings with Nalini and while returning the ship in which he is traveling meets with an accident and he loses his leg. Meanwhile, Radha becomes a great singer in Hyderabad. Lakshmi in search of her mother leaves the house and a noble person gives her shelter. Knowing that her husband & daughter are missing Radha becomes emotionally disturbed. Now Venu is in search of a sweet voice. Once he listens to Lakshmi's voice without knowing her identity, decides to make her as a great singer and he does so. After that, he comes to know Lakshmi is his own daughter. In a music competition, he makes his daughter to challenge Radha and proves her as Sangeeta Lakshmi. In the end, the entire family is reunited and the movie ends on a happy note.
