Sandaig Bay is a coastal embayment, on a chord of 1.27 miles, on a 194° orientation, located on the north western end of the sea loch, Loch Nevis, facing the Sound of Sleat. The bay is within the western end of the Knoydart peninsula, in the Lochaber district, on the west coast of Scotland.[1] Sandaig Bay was the setting of Gavin Maxwell's book Ring of Bright Water. The book describes how Maxwell bought a smooth-coated otter back from Iraq and raised it at Camusfeàrna, the name he used for his house on Sandaig Bay.
