Saleem Nasir (Urduسلیم ناصر; 1944 – 1989) was a Pakistani film and TV actor. With some experience in film and television acting roles, he later developed his artistic skills and built his career based on his versatile roles. He tried to do justice to every role that was offered to him.[1][2] Salim Nasir also published his own entertainment magazine, TV Tempo and was a leading force behind another magazine,TV Times.[3]

Early life and career

Saleem Nasir was born to a Pathan family in Nagpur, British India on November 15, 1944. He had a successful, though short, career in TV and film acting.

Awards

He was honored with Pakistan's highest achievement award in the field of acting,'The President's Pride of Performance Award' in 1990.

Death

At the age of 45 years, Salim Nasir suffered a heart attack on 24 September 1989. On October 19, 1989, he experienced signs of extreme heart congestion around noon. He was rushed to the hospital but expired before any medical treatment could be provided. He was survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.[2]
