Sailaway

"Sailaway" is a song by the American R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire, written by Philip Bailey, Eduardo del Barrio, Maurice White and Roxanne Seeman. It was recorded during the Faces sessions in 1980 and appears on the album. In June 1999, Philip Bailey featured a jazz version of "Sailaway" under the title "Sail Away" on his Dreams album.[1]

"Sailaway" was released as a vinyl, 12', promo by ARC and Columbia Records.

Production

Earth, Wind and Fire's "Sailaway" was arranged by Erich Bulling (Horns, Strings), recorded and mixed by George Massenburg and Ken Fowler, and mastered by Michael Reese.[2] It was released by ARC and Columbia Records.The recording includes a trombone solo performed by Louis Satterfield.[2]

Philip Bailey's "Sail Away" was produced by Erik Huber and released by Heads Up International Records.

Composition

This song is a waltz in ¾ time and recorded in the key of G Major.
