Rufa Mae Quinto-Magallanes (born May 28, 1978) is an actress, comedian, television host and occasional singer of dual American and Filipino citizenship.

Career

Quinto started her showbiz career after landing a spot in That's Entertainment (1996). Her first major role was in Gloria, Gloria Labandera (1997). Quinto is widely known for playing the character 'Booba' and 'Boobita Rose' in both hit movies, a role for which Quinto inspired an international catchphrase in the Philippine vernacular to refer to a lack of English fluency as having a "nose bleed".

Quinto has won four PMPC Star Awards and has starred in top-grossing films such as Apat-Dapat Dapat-Apat, Pasukob, Desperadas, Manay Po 2, I.T.A.L.Y. and Desperadas 2. Although Quinto is a talent of GMA Network, she is one of the few actresses managed by Boy Abunda, a personality from the rival TV station ABS-CBN.

Personal life

Family

Quinto is the eldest daughter of seven children. She is the second-degree cousin of Jean Garcia, who also came from That's Entertainment, and the second-degree aunt of Jennica Garcia.

Incident

On August 30, 2007, burglars broke into Quinto's house in an exclusive subdivision in Quezon City; she lost valuable property worth P2 million (a watch worth P1.2 million, a laptop, and valuables from inside her bag).[1][2]

Relationships

Quinto has dated singer Erik Santos.[3]

Quinto married her fiancé, financial analyst Trevor Magallanes on November 25, 2016 in Quezon City.[4] The two had met in 2016, during Quinto's fifth visit in the United States.[5] She gave birth to their first child, a girl, on February 18, 2017.[6]
