On 14 July 2016 he stood in his first One Day International (ODI) match, between Ireland and Afghanistan.[5] He was initially appointed to stand in the match between the two sides on 10 July, but the match was abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.[6] On 5 September 2016 he stood in his first Twenty20 International match, between Ireland and Hong Kong.[7]
