Robert Dickie (born 3 March 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays for League One side Oxford United, as a defender. He has represented England at U19 level.

Career

Club

Reading

Dickie joined Reading as an eight-year-old.[3] Dickie made his first loan move from Reading on 24 December 2014, joining Basingstoke Town until 25 April 2015.[4][5] He made twenty four appearances for Basingstoke and helped them to reach the Conference South Play-Offs.[6]

On 9 May 2016, Dickie was one of 15 Reading youth-team players offered a new contract by the club,[7] with conformation of his new deal being signed coming on 1 July 2016.[8]

Cheltenham Town (loan)

On 20 August 2015, Dickie joined Cheltenham Town on a one-month loan deal.[9] Dickie's loan deal was then extended on for an additional month on 23 September,[10] on 16 October,[11] and again on 10 December until the end of January.[12] During Cheltenham Town's 3–1 victory over Chelmsford City in the FA Trophy on 12 December, Dickie scored a hat-trick.[13] Dickie returned to Reading on January to recover from an injury, before rejoining Cheltenham Town for their promotion push on 23 March.[14] helping them secure the title against Halifax Town on 16 April.[15]

On 25 August 2016. Dickie re-joined Cheltenham Town on loan until 2 January 2017.[16]

Lincoln City (loan)

On 1 August 2017, Dickie joined Lincoln City on loan until January 2018.[17]

Oxford United

On 4 January 2018, Dickie joined Oxford United on a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee from Reading.[18][19] He made his debut on 13 February in a 3–1 League One defeat at Rotherham United,[20] and scored his first goal for the club against Peterborough United in a League One home fixture on 17 March 2018.[21]

International

In March 2014, Dickie received his first call up to the England U18's for their match against Germany U18.[22] Dickie went on to be called up to the England U19s a year later.[23]
