Ric Hassani (born Ikechukwu Eric Ahiauzu) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and musician.[1] Hassani was born on the 6th of January, 1989, in Port Harcourt.[2]

Education

Hassani graduated from the Covenant University in Nigeria and thereafter attended the University of Surrey, United Kingdom where he earned a Masters Degree in Energy Economics.[3]

Musical career

Hassani released his debut album The African Gentleman in 2016. He is said to have a dress style that is influenced by his self-acclaimed stance as a gentleman.[4]

Awards and Nominations

Hassani was nominated in three categories at the 2016 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA): Best Artiste in African R&B and Soul, Video of the Year, and Most Promising Artiste.[5] The same year Hassani was also nominated in two categories at The Headies for Best Vocal Performance and Best Alternative Song for his single "Gentleman".[1][6]
