Reina Kubo (久保玲奈) is a singer and dancer and was a former member and leader of Prizmmy,[1] a Japanese dance and vocal unit under Avex Pictures, before their disbandment in March 31, 2017. She is a 1st and 3rd generation of Roni Girls, a Japanese children's clothing brand. She is well known for appearing on 'The Karaoke Battle' U-18 [2] winning 2nd place and participating in LDH's The Girls Audition.

Personal life

Reina announced that she passed her college entrance exams on November 8, 2017. While participating on The Karaoke Battle it was revealed that Reina attends Komazawa University[3] and is taking Global Media Studies.

Career

Pre-Debut

Born on October 28, 1999, in Saitama Prefecture, Reina is the eldest out of 2 children in her family. She began to dance at the early age of 3 years old and had been participating in many dance performances before she debuted.

She began her career in 2009 after becoming a member of ChibikkoAAA on March 25, a mini version of the popular group AAA (band). She portrayed Misako Uno one of the two female members and continued with the group for a few years.

She had participated in Kirachalle[4] on July 25, 2009 and was in the modelling department.

Reina was also a 1st and 3rd generation Roni Girl.[5] Her former Prizmmy members Mia Kusakabe, Karin Takahashi and Hina Miyazaki were also models and dancers of the clothing brand. They had dance performances while they modelled for the clothing they performed in. She was also a 1st generation Dance Style Kid.

In 2011, Reina was 1 of 3 girls featured for anime Pretty Rhythm where she portrayed a trainee who learned fashion, dancing and singing with the aim to debut. In 2012 she hosted the second and third seasons of the series Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future and Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live appearing at the end of the anime with Prizmmy and their sister group Prism Mates for Pretty Rhythm Studios.

Prizmmy (2012-2017)

Reina debuted as the leader of Prizmmy in March 16, 2012 with the song Everybody's Gonna be Happy which was also the 4th ending of the anime Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream. When the second season of Pretty Rhythm aired she was given an anime version like the other members, and she was named "Reina Miyama", and was portrayed as one of the main characters of the season.

She had released a total of 12 singles, 1 mini album and 3 albums with Prizmmy before their disbandment.

On December 9, 2016 along with fellow Prizmmy members and Prism Mates, they announced that they will no longer be a group as of March 2017.[6] They finally disbanded on March 31, 2017 with their last live being held on March 30 and all the tickets of the venue being sold out.

Their last album "Prizmmy☆ THE BEST!" was released on February 22, 2017.

Solo Activities (2017 - present)

After disbandment, Reina left Avex and became a freelance artist where she became a back up dancer for various releases by Meik a newly debuted Japanese singer. She participated in Kanjani's The Mozart No.1 Music King Final Participation (関ジャニ∞のTheモーツァルト 音楽王No.1決定戦 出場).

In December 2017 Reina also appeared on Tonight, the birth! Music Champion Finalists! (今夜、誕生！音楽チャンプ 決勝戦出場). Later that month she appeared alongside former Prism Mates member Runa Suzuki in Gene High National Youth Dance Cup (GENE高 全国青春ダンスカップ).

In early 2018, Reina appeared with Runa again on After School Swag performing the song "I Love You" by Chris Hart.

In July 2018, Reina appeared on The Karaoke Battle (ＴＨＥ★カラオケバトル (全日本大学生歌うま王決定戦)) winning 2nd place.

She also performed in Miyoshimaturi[7] in early September.

It was revealed in early September that Reina participated in LDH's The Girls Audition and is in the vocal and dance department.
