Ranipur Kamboan is a village in Phagwara Tehsil in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 45 kilometres (28 mi) from Kapurthala, 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from Phagwara. The village is administrated by a Sarpanch who is an elected representative of village as per the constitution of India and Panchayati raj (India). [2]

History

In 2018, a major smuggling ring was uncovered in Ranipur at a home goods store. The store, known as the "soda valia" store, was owned by a respected family. Many illegal bottles very uncovered from the shop as well as from the home of the owners. Both the owner and his relatives were arrested and charged. They have been charged a 8 lakh rupees. The family has brought much shame to this quiet village and have been disgraced in the village as a whole.
