Rajpora

Rajpora is a large constituency located in Pulwama of Pulwama district, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Rajpora is situated 7.5 km away from Pulwama.

Demographics

Rajpora has a population of 5215 members, of which 2756 are males while 2459 are females as per Census of 2011. [1]

The population of children under age 6 is 1169, roughly 22.42% of total population of the village. Average Sex Ratio of Rajpora village is 892 which is higher than Jammu and Kashmir which has an average of 889. Child Sex Ratio of the Rajpora as per census is 729, lower than Jammu and Kashmir average of 862. 

Rajpora village has the same literacy rate of Jammu and Kashmir. In 2011, literacy rate of Rajpora village was 78% compared to Jammu and Kashmir which was 79.6%. In Rajpora Male literacy stands at 75.67% while female literacy rate is 56.61%.

History

Rajpora has importance in the history of Kashmir Valley. Mujaahid-Manzil (during the period of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah) was the hub for ideological debates. Only 2-4 mujaahid-manzils are available in Kashmir.
