Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. widely known as Raj & DK are an Indian American film director-producer-writer duo known for their unique works in Bollywood.[1][2] The duo are known for their quirky film making and unique sense of style and humour. Their latest offering is the blockbuster, Stree. They have also written and directed the widely known sleeper-hits such as Shor in the City, 99, Go Goa Gone (India’s first slacker film and horror-comedy), meta romcom Happy Ending and an action comedy, A Gentleman. They are currently working on an Amazon prime original web series "The Family Man".

The Indian emigrants to the United States - Raj & DK’s first Hindi feature film, 99 is an original crime-comic-thriller-historical-fiction set in Mumbai and Delhi. The New York Times called it "funny, inventive, refreshing"; Box Office magazine (USA) acclaimed that the film "sets new standards in Hindi cinema!"; and a number of Indian publications gave it four star reviews.[3][4]

Shor in the City was the most acclaimed Hindi film of the year. It received glowing reviews from across media publications. The film was also made at a micro-budget, making it profitable even before the film's release. The film was also selected to various high profile film festivals across the world.[5]

Go Goa Gone was a clutter-breaking film that introduced to India the first of it's kind of a genre-bending film - stoner/slacker comedy combined with horror and comedy. It become a cult film, especially among the younger audience.[6]

Awards

The director duo won the Best Director Award at NYIIFF in 2010 for their feature 'Shor In The City'. The award was presented by Mira Nair. Their short film, Shor (2008) (V), a fast-paced, edgy satire, won the 'Best Film' award at MIAAC Film Festival (Indo-American Arts Council, New York) and won 'Best Cinematography' award at San Francisco Shorts. It was also an official selection at some of the film festivals like Palm Springs, LA Shorts, Slamdance, Raindance, Hawaii and Rhode Island Film Festivals.[7][8][9]
