Dr. Rahim Hobbenaghi

Rahim Hobbenaghi (Born in January 1960, Urmia) is the President of Urmia University since 2014.[1] He also previously served as president of Urmia university from 1997 till 2001.

Early life

Professor Hobbenaghi born in January 1960 in the city of Urmia, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. He did his studies in Urmia city up to highschool. In 1979 he got accepted into a veterinary program at the University of Tehran. He was graduated with PhD in Veterinary Medicine from University of Tehran in 1985 and a specialty in Veterinary Pathology in 1995.

Professor Hobbenaghi is also a veteran of Iran–Iraq War and has participated in Before the Dawn, Dawn 1, and Dawn 2 operations as a member of 31 Ashura Corps of IRGC, according to the site of Iranian higher education (Ministry of Science) on January 1, 2018, Professor Hobbenaghi selected for the second consecutive term and will be the university's president for the next four years starting from February. He is the first to be running for three consecutive terms[2].
