Princess Maria Isabella of Savoy-Genoa (Italian: Maria Isabella Elena Immacolata Barbara Anna Pace di Savoia Genova; born 23 June 1943) is the last surviving male-line descendant of the Dukes of Genoa, a cadet branch of the House of Savoy which ruled Italy from 1861 to 1946.

Family and early life

Maria Isabella was born in Rome, the only child of Prince Eugenio of Savoy, 5th Duke of Genoa and his wife Princess Lucia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.[1] The title Duke of Genoa become extinct upon the death without sons of the fifth duke in 1996.

Marriage and issue

She married Alberto Frioli dei Conti di Rezzano (born 7 April 1943, Rimini) on 29 April 1971 in Lausanne, Switzerland.[1] They have issue:[1]

  • Vittorio Eugenio Frioli (born 27 February 1972 in São Paulo), married on 7 July 2007 in Caraguatatuba, Soraia Barbosa Silva (born on 23 September 1977 in Ubatuba). They have two children:
    • Stella di Savoia Genova Frioli (born 1 April 2014 in São Paulo)
    • Lucca di Savoia Genova Frioli (born 26 April 2017 in Saõ Paulo)
  • Maria Cristina Frioli (17 August 1973 in São Paulo – 30 September 1973 in São Paulo)
  • Carlo Alberto Frioli (born 18 July 1974 in São Paulo), married 28 April 2007 in São Paulo, Priscilla Raso
  • Maria Luce Lydia Frioli (born 15 August 1978 in São Paulo), has illegitimate issue:
    • Sophia Vitoria Frioli Moreno (born 2000)
