The Premier League Playmaker of the Season is an annual English football award, presented to the player who has made the most assists (the last pass made before a goal scored) in the Premier League. For sponsorship purposes, it is known as the Cadbury Playmaker of the Season since its inception during the 2017–18 season.[1]
The Premier League was founded in 1992, when the clubs of the First Division left the Football League and established a new commercially independent league that negotiated its own broadcast and sponsorship agreements.[2] In 2018, the Premier League Playmaker of the Season was first awarded, with Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City its inaugural recipient.[3]
