Poa alpina, commonly known as alpine meadow-grass^[1] or alpine bluegrass,^[2] is a species of meadow grass.

It is noted for being viviparous: Its seeds are evolved to germinate while still connected to the parent plant, in order to give them a safe head start.^[3]
