The SS3 (short for Indonesian: Senapan Serbu 3, "Assault Rifle 3") is 7.62 mm version of the in-service Pindad SS2 assault rifle. Pindad designed SS3 as a designated marksman rifle for use in assault teams that require a high level of accuracy.

The SS3 was exhibited at Indo Defence 2016.[2]

History

The prototype was first unveiled at Indo Defence 2014, where it was shown with a fire selector with safe, single and full auto modes.[3]

Variants

Pindad officials announced that the SS3 will be available in three variants: standard, commando and long barrel (the latter for marksmen), with a listed range of 950m.[2]
