The Perth Scorchers WBBL team is a women's cricket team based in Perth, Australia. It competes in the Twenty20 Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), under the same name and team colours as the Perth Scorchers team in the Big Bash League men's competition.[1][2] One of eight founding teams in the league, the WBBL team is coached by Lisa Keightley, who was appointed in December 2015 to replace inaugural coach Mark Atkinson.[1][3]
The Scorchers' inaugural captain, Nicole Bolton, led the team through the WBBL01 season (2015–16), but later decided to stand down to concentrate on her own game.[4][5] For the WBBL02 season (2016–17), the team was captained by Suzie Bates, also the captain of the New Zealand women's national cricket team.[5] Since the commencement of the WBBL|03 season (2017–18), the captain has been Elyse Villani.[6]
