Patrick J. Bumatay is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California and a nominee to be a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Early life and career

Bumatay earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Yale University, and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, where he served as managing editor of the Yale Law Journal. After graduating from law school, Park served as a law clerk to Judge Sandra L. Townes of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and Judge Timothy Tymkovich of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Bumatay has served in various positions at the United States Department of Justice.[1]

Nomination to court of appeals

On October 10, 2018, President Trump announced his intent to nominate Bumatay to serve as a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.[1]
