Pardon Us are a three-piece DIY pop punk band from Liverpool, formed in 2014. Following a split EP with Only Strangers on Keith Records,[1] their debut self-titled EP was released on Everything Sucks Music in 2017.[2][3] They are characterised by fast-paced energetic live performances, sociopolitical lyrics and anthemic gang vocal choruses shared by all three band members.[4][5]
Biography
Guitarist and lead vocalist Morgan Brown has previously played in Flamingo 50 as well as currently playing in Liverpool-based bands The No Marks and Down and Outs. He has cited Husker Dü, Snuff, Naked Raygun and J Church as major influences.[6][7][8] Gabby Santos has previously drummed in Town Bike and directed the video for Chicago-based punk band The Fur Coats' single "When Will You Die".[9][10]
The band identifies with a left-wing political philosophy which frequently influences their lyrics.[11][12] Their debut self-titled EP dealt with themes of apathy and anxiety associated with working and playing DIY punk music in young adulthood, and their love for their home town of Liverpool.[13]
They have previously toured the UK and played with The Queers, Iron Chic, The Copyrights, Martha, Doe, Colour Me Wednesday, Apologies, I Have None, Mobina Galore and Ducking Punches as well as playing several punk festivals.[14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22] When in Liverpool they frequently played at Maguire's pizza bar until its closure in September 2018.[23][24][25][26]
In August 2018 they were the opening band in that year's Rebellion Festival.[27][28][29]
