Paite are a distinct tribe having their own culture, tradition, custom and language dwelling in Bangladesh, Burma, and India. They are an ethnic group known and called in different names in Bangladesh and Burma whereas in India by the name 'Paite' which is a Scheduled Tribe in the states of Manipur and Mizoram, India. Paite have two ruling clans, the Guite and the Sukte [2]
