P. V. Kalyanasundaram

P. V. Kalyanasundaram, (25 February 1958[1][2]- ) is an Indian politician who was a former organising secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (D.M.K) party, and is considered a M. K. Stalin loyalist.[3][4][5] He resigned from the D.M.K on July 30, 2014.[3][4][5]

Kalyanasundaram was also director of Tata Communications Ltd. during the period 2005-2011[6][7][8] and the director of Kalaignar TV during the period 2011-2014.[9][10][11]

An advocate by profession, was formerly a legal advisor to the Chennai MetroWater Supply and Sewage Board (also known as Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board) and the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (Chennai) (formerly known as Pallavan Transport Corporation). He was a member of the Censor Board, Chennai (also known as the Central Board of Film Certification) as well as the Presidency Club, Chennai and also a trustee of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Mumbai.

Kalyanasundaram managed several educational institutions which includes seven colleges and six schools as the chairman and trustee of Pachayappa's Trust, Chennai during the period 2000 to 2004.[2][6] As of 2014 he is the managing director of K.S Movies, Chennai.[1]

Early life

Kalyanasundaram was born on February 25, 1958. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1977 from The New College, Chennai. In 1982, he received a Bachelor of Law degree from Madras Law College. He took part in various public activities through Green Peace World Charitable Trust.[2]
