Ozan Özerk

Dr. Ozan Özerk (born 1979, Nicosia, Cyprus) is a Norwegian medical doctor and entrepreneur of Turkish Cypriot descent. His father, Kamil Özerk, is a professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Education.[1] His mother, Meral R. Özerk, is a senior advisor at Statped specializing in children with learning disabilities.[2] She is also the author of several children's books.[3]

Dr. Ozan Özerk studied medicine at the University of Oslo between 2002 and 2008. Upon graduation, Dr. Özerk worked at UNN Narvik from 2010 to 2011.[4] During his time at UNN Narvik, Dr. Özerk co-authored an article on the reduction of non-communicable diseases for the World Health Organization.[5][6][7]

In 2002, Dr. Özerk co-founded Norsk Ideutvikling, an online media company which created the social networking site Biip.no in 2005.[8] In 2008, Biip.no was acquired by Egmont and Nettavisen for an estimated valuation of 100+ million krone.[9][10][11][12]

Shifting his focus to the FinTech industry, Dr. Özerk founded:

Clearsettle,[13] a London-based white-label B2B payment platform provider authorized by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a licensed payment institution, in 2015.

He is also the founder and director of Ozan.com,[14] a digital wallet for online payments and money transfers (authorized by the FCA as an E-Money Institution);

Giftbull.com,[15] a gift card marketplace (authorized by the FCA as an E-Money Agent);

SettleGo,[16] a cross-border payments and settlement platform (authorized by the FCA as an E-Money Institution);

Instrawise,[17] which provides payment initiation and account information services.

Dr. Özerk is also the founder of Codespace, a software development company serving the FinTech industry, with offices in Turkey, the United Kingdom, Malta, and Bulgaria.[18]
