Orcinus paleorca is an early species of killer whale from the Pleistocene.[1]

Discovery

Fossil remains have been found in Naganuma area in Japan. It was named in 1937 by H. Matsumoto. The type specimen is a tooth, compressedly oval in transverse section and broadening on the sides and back.[2] Its remains were found near the Seto Inland Sea.[3]
