Nushrat Bharucha (born 17 May 1985)[1] is an Indian film actress who has played the lead female role in several Hindi films, including Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010), Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), Akaash Vani (2013), Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015), and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018). Nushrat Bharucha and Rajkumar Rao are to reunite for Hansal Mehta's next social comedy drama Turram Khan.

Personal life

Bharucha was born and brought up in a Muslim Dawoodi Bohra family in Mumbai, India.[2][3] Her father, Tanvir, is a businessman and her mother, Tasneem, is a homemaker. She has one younger brother, Zain-ul-Bharucha, and an elder sister. In an interview with the Mint, Bharucha talked openly about her life as being a member of the Bohra community, and her role in it.[2]

Career

Bharucha debuted in [Jai Santoshi Maa]] directed by Ahemed siddiqui later Love sex aur Dhoka and shot to prominence with Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) produced by Wide Frame wicked pictures. The film was story of three bachelors who fall in love with three different girls. Bharucha plays one of the three girls, Neha, who is in a live-in relationship with her boyfriend, Rajat. She gained popularity as ‘Babu’, Rajat's nickname for her in the film. The film became a sleeper hit of the year with newcomers in the lead. It has now achieved a cult status among the youth. Nusrat's latest feature film, is Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety[4] released on 23 February 2018, Luv Ranjan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, in which she was paired with her Pyaar Ka Punchnama co-star, Kartik Aaryan.

Bharucha has also acted in the Yash Raj Films television series, Seven. She has also appeared in many TV advertisements. She once mentioned in an interview with India Today, "I have never been to an acting school and was trained at auditions."[5]
