Nitro Software, Inc. develops commercial software used to create, edit, sign, and secure Portable Document Format (PDF) files and digital documents.

The Nitro Productivity Suite™, released in June 2018, includes Nitro Pro™—Nitro's flagship product and a popular replacement for Adobe® Acrobat®—and Nitro Cloud®, a browser-based application which provides unlimited electronic signatures and PDF productivity tools. Additional services are also available for eligible customers, including Nitro Admin™, a cloud-based service to assist with user management and deployment, and Nitro Analytics™, a managed service that leverages usage insights to drive adoption and maximize ROI. Nitro also manages a suite of free document conversion sites. The company sunset their PDF reader, Nitro Reader, in 2017, though users can get the same functionality with an expired free trial of Nitro Pro.

Nitro's product family is targeted for the professional market and although its desktop products are Windows-only, Nitro Cloud is compatible with any web browser on any machine. Nitro Pro is proprietary trialware, while Nitro Reader is freeware for both personal and professional use. The company is focused on helping individual users and businesses of all sizes eliminate paper from document workflows to gain productivity and insights while reducing waste and inefficiency.

The company has over 650,000 business customers worldwide, and claims millions of users across the globe.
