Ni Ni Khin Zaw (Burmese: နီနီခင်ဇော်; born 31 August 1991) is a Burmese pop singer.[1] She won the 2008 season of Melody World, a televised singing competition.[2] Ni Ni performed in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw.[3]

Early life and education

Ni Ni was born on 31 August 1991 in Yekyi, Myanmar. She attended and graduated from the University of Medicine 2, Yangon.[4]

Career

Ni Ni started her music career participating as a contestant in Melody World, a televised singing competition. She won the 2008 Melody World and got her big break after competing in the competition. She became famous after the 27th SEA Games. She sang three great songs, Myanmar, the Country of our Blood Friends (Burmese: သွေးချင်းတို့ဌာနေမြန်မာပြည်), Everlasting Myanmar (Burmese: ထာဝရမြန်မာ) and See You Again (Burmese: ပြန်ဆုံမယ်), in the opening and closing ceremonies.[5] Her song, Myanmar, the Country of our Blood Friends is very famous even today. She also sang the Theme Song of the 24th ASEAN Summit. She presented her first one lady show in Yangon on 1 April 2017.[6] She presented her second one lady show on 7 and 8 April 2018.

Personal life

In 10 June 2010, She married to a widower Myo Myint Thein, a merchant vessel chief engineer, on 10 June 2010. The couple divorced in 2013. They had no children.[8][9][10][11]
