Ngô Xương Xí

12 Warlords

Ngô Xương Xí (Hán tự: 吳昌熾, ??) was a warlord of Vietnam during the Period of the 12 Warlords.

Xí was a son of Ngô Xương Ngập, a ruler of Ngô dynasty. In 965, Ngô Xương Văn was killed in the battlefield. Xí became the leader of Ngô clan. He retreated to Bình Kiều (mordern Triệu Sơn District, Thanh Hóa Province), and titled himself Ngô sứ quân (吳使君).[1][2]

Xí was defeated by Đinh Bộ Lĩnh in 968. He was also the elder brother of Khuông Việt, an important Buddhist monk and politician during Đinh dynasty.
