Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai

Nawab Mohammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai (Urdu: نواب محمد ایاز خان جوگیزئی) is the Pashtun Nawab.

He became Nawab after the death of Nawab Taimoor Shah Khan Jogezai. While was still alive, Nawab Taimoor Shah Khan Jogezai nominated Nawab Mohammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai as the next Nawab. He survived an assassination attempt at Qilla Saifullah in 1988 but was seriously injured. On the request of Chairman of PashtunKhwa Milli Awami Party, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, he joined the Party for the Unity of All Pashtoons. He was senator in the Upper House of the Parliament of Pakistan for from 2003 to 2009.[1][2][3]

He is the convener of 'Pakhtoon Ulasi Qaumi Jirga' (Pashtoon National Council).[4] The Jirga was held in March 1998 and was attended by the majority of tribal elders throughout Western and Northern Pashtoonkhwa (a heavily Pashtoon populated area of Balochistan). He is the Current PHED minister of Balochistan.

He also participated in a Peace Jirga, commissioned by President Hamid Karzai in late 2008.[5] In Kabul, Nawab Mohammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai had a series of meetings to discuss Pakhtoon unity with Asfand Yar Wali Khan, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Malak Habib Ullah Khan Kudezai and President Karzai.And he has good relations with former Pakistan national football team manager and founder of two all Pakistan football tournaments Zafar Habib Kudezai.
