National Institute of Rural Development

National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) is an Indian institute for research in rural development, located in Rajendranagar near Hyderabad.[1] [2] [3] [4] NIRD offers two year PGDM (RM) course. Its mission is to develop a committed cadre of rural development professionals trained to deal with the challenges in rural areas.[5] It is an autonomous organization under Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and recently get approval from AICTE (2018).[6] Prior this, NIRD offering one year PGDRDM course. The selection process through Valid Score in CAT / XAT / MAT / ATMA admissions, it start in 2018.Main opportunity of this course is that it assure 100% placement and provides basic understanding of the Rural Sector. Before .[7]

History

The institute was first named National Institute of Community Development (NICD) upon its foundation in 1962, with merger two as Central Institute of Study and Research in Community Development at Mussoorie, (now in Uttarakhand) and Trainers Training Institute at Rajpur.[8]
