The National Basketball League (NBL) is an regional amateur basketball league in the Philippines.
Unlike other regional basketball leagues such as the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the now-defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) and Filsports Basketball Association (FBA), the NBL will feature a away-and-home format and will focus on giving homegrown players (aged 18-29 years old and a bonafide resident of the team's province, city or municipality) an opportunity to showcase their skills in the hope of making it to the professional and semi-professional leagues.[1][2]
The league targets to start with 10 teams from Luzon with future plans to expand to accommodate teams based in Visayas and Mindanao on August 25, 2018, and the games will be played in a away and home format on Saturdays and Sundays.[3]
