Narmina Afandiyeva (Azerbaijani: 'Nərminə Əfəndiyeva'; Russian: Нармина Эфендиева) (born 24 February 1976) is an Azerbaijani classical pianist and tutor.[1]

Life and career

Narmina Afandiyeva was born in Baku, in Soviet Azerbaijan in 1976. In 1986, she attended the BulBul Secondary Special Music School and graduated in 1994 with first-class honours. The same year, she entered the Baku Academy of Music where she studied piano, and in 1998, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then studied for her Master's Degree there, graduating in 2000 with first-class honors. She has performed more than 100 times as a soloist in Baku and abroad. In addition to performances in recitals, she is also an opera accompanist.[2] She is married to Hasan Anami Olya, a well known Azerbaijani musician and opera singer.

  • Winner of the Festival of Young Performers (II Prize);
  • Winner of the Republican Contest of Young Pianists for the title of the Best Pianist of the Year (III Prize)
