NGC 7022 is a barred lenticular galaxy located about 95 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation Indus.[2][3] NGC 7022's calculated velocity is 2308 km/s. NGC 7022 has an estimated diameter of 57,350 light-years.[3] The galaxy was discovered by astronomer John Herschel on October 2, 1834.[4]
Physical Characteristics
NGC 7022 appears to be located in the Indus triplet of galaxies which also contains the galaxies NGC 7049, NGC 7041, and NGC 7029.[5]
