Music of Artsakh

Artsakh is a landlocked region in the South Caucasus. Although regarded by the United Nations as a part of Azerbaijan, it currently claims to be a republic and is supported by Armenia.

Many Azerbaijani musicians trace their origins to this region. Shusha, a small city in the western region of Azerbaijan in Artsakh, has long been considered one of the music centers of Azerbaijan.

Amongst the musicians that can trace their origins or families from Artsakh are Uzeyir Hajibeyov (the founder of classical music of Azerbaijan), the Armenian singer André, Bulbul and Polad Bülbüloğlu.
