It is known for harmony among different castes. There are three temples in the village: one being to Goddess Maheshwari, the most powerful one; another old temple, Gopalaswamy temple; and the latest one is the Sri Rama Temple. This village was moved to a neighbouring place when cholera struck the people some two hundred years ago. At the remains of the old village some people find one or two gold and silver coins whenever they dig the earth. Dr. M. K. Nagaraja is the first highly qualified person from the village, who has earned his MA, LLM, MBL, and Ph.D. He has earned his MBL and Ph.D. from the prestigious National Law School of India University. He is now a retired member of the Indian Police Service.

Mullur village is in a developing phase, where it has many other temples added to its geography. These temples are Lord Venkateshwara temples, Lord Shani Dev temple, Om Shakti temple, etc. Mullur has a primary government school which is about 80 years old. This school has transformed many people of the village from illiterate to literate by providing basic education. Today we have many graduates and a few post graduates who pursued their basic education at this school. This school has been relocated to the new, bigger building, which is located just a few meters away from the village in recent years.
