The Mugher Mudstone is a Tithonian geologic formation located in Ethiopia. It dates to the Tithonian stage of the Late Jurassic time period. Dinosaur remains diagnostic to the genus level are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation.[1] The lithology consists of gypsum, dolomite and shale alternations at the base, overlain by mudstone intercalated with fine to medium grained sandstone.[2]
An unnamed dromaeosaurine dromaeosaurid has been recovered from this formation. The discoverers proved it to be a dromaeosaurine, and not a velociraptorine, based on its low DSDI ratio.[3] Many other remains have been uncovered also, including indeterminate ornithopods and allosauroids.[4]
