Since Gopi does not realize the responsibilities his father, he asks him to take up his tea estate business and he agrees to it. During his stay there, Gopi meets a beautiful girl Radha (Sridevi) and they fall in love with each other. Unfortunate events force Radha to feel cheated by Gopi and later she gives birth to their child and dies. Shanti (Jayasudha) is Radha's sister who wants her sister's child to be Gopi's heir.
