Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, member of All Progressives Congress and incumbent Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.[1]
Early life
He was born in Agege, a town in Lagos State southwestern Nigeria.[2]
He had his primary education at St Thomas Acquinas Pry School, Surulere, Lagos before he proceeded to Archbishop Aggey Memorial Secondary school, Mushin, Ilasamaja, Lagos where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate.[3] He received a bachelor's degree in Law from Lagos State University, Lagos in the year 2006.[4]
Political career
In 1999, Mudashiru contested the seat of councilor at Agege local government under the Alliance for Democracy party and won, which he served between 1999 and 2002.[5]
Also in the year 2003, he contested for the House of Assembly seat in his constituency and won. In 2007 he was returned again likewise 2011 and 2015 serving for a consecutive three tenures where he served as chairman of House Committee on Rural Development, Public Account (Local Government) and Budget and Economic Planning before he was elected Speaker of the Assembly.[6][7][8]
