The Moorestown Township Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Moorestown Township, in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States.

As of the 2014-15 school year, the district and its six schools had an enrollment of 3,940 students and 330.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.9:1.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]

Notably, the district was part of a lawsuit in 2003 called Hornstine v. Township of Moorestown over attempted policy changes made by Moorestown High School.

Awards and recognition

For the 1991-92 school year, George C. Baker Elementary School was recognized with the National Blue Ribbon Award of Excellence from the United States Department of Education, the highest honor that an American school can achieve. Moorestown High School was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School for the 1999-2000 school year.[4]
