Moingona is an unincorporated community in Boone County, in the U.S. state of Iowa.[1]

History

Moingona had its start in 1866 when the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad was extended to that point.[2] The community derives its name from the Moingona Indians.[3] A post office was established at Moingona in 1867, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1928.[4][5]
