Señorita Panama 2016 (former Miss Panama) the 49th Miss Panamá pageant selected to the Miss Universe. This was the 1st edition of the renewed Miss Panama pageant, after Justine Pasek, Miss Universe 2002, and César Anel Rodríguez be named the new directors of the pageant in Panamá.[1] 20 preliminay contestants have been selected from all over Panama and competed for the prestigious crown. Miss Panamá 2015 Gladys Del Carmen Brandao Amaya crown her successor Keity Drennan Mendieta at the end of the event. The event was held at the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel and Tower, Ciudad de Panamá, Panama, the Tuesday 26, 2016.

The winner of Señorita Panama 2016 was Keity Mendieta [2](Keity Drennan Mendieta Britton, born on July 24, 1990 in Panama City, Panamá).

Keity Mendieta Señorita Panama 2016 represented Panama at Miss Universe 2016 pageant where she placed in the Top 13.

Preliminary Interview

Held on Saturday April 16, to Señorita Panama candidates were qualified in swimsuit and personal interview.

Gala Viva Panama

Held on Thursday September 1, the Gala Viva Panama was the election for the Best National Costume. In this competition the contestants are not evaluated, only the costumes. It's a competition showing the country's wealth embodied in the colorful and fascinating costumes made by Panamanian designers combining the past and present of Panama.

For the Señorita Panamá Organization this event is very important because it discloses the creative work of the great Panamanian designers and also select the costume to represent Panama in Miss Universe this year. Also, some costumes are elected to represent Panama in other beauty contests.

Also was the selection of Winner's for the title of Señorita Panamá World, Señorita Panamá Earth, Señorita Panamá Hispanoamerica and Señorita Panamá United Continents. Diana Jaén Miss Panamá World 2015 crown her successor Alessandra Bueno Fontaine as Señorita Panamá World 2016 also Carmen Jaramillo crowned Virginia Isabel Hernández Milachay as Señorita Panamá Earth 2016 and Jhasmeiry Herrera Evans as Señorita Panamá Hispanoamerica 2016.

Alessandra will now represent Panama during the 66th Miss World finals to take place at the Gaylord Convention Center in Washington D.C., next December 18. In others hand Hernández will represent Panama at Miss Earth 2016 pageant to be held on 29th October 2016 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, Philippines.
