Miss Asia Pacific International is a beauty pageant headquartered in Manila, Philippines after a successful rebirth in 2016[1]. It is the oldest such pageant in Asia.[2]
History
Miss Asia Pacific International was founded in 1968 as Miss Asia Quest and was first open to contestants from Asia and Oceania. The title was changed to Miss Asia Pacific Quest in 1985 when contestants from countries in the Americas which border the Pacific Ocean were allowed to compete. In 2005, the current title was chosen and contestants from all over the world were allowed changing the name to Miss Asia Pacific International.[3] In 2016, the pageant was revived and the winner of Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 was Miss Netherlands, Tessa le Conge.
The current title holder is Sharifa Areef Mohammed Omar Akeel from the Philippines who was crowned on the 5th of October 2018.
