Mirza is a major town in South Kamrup district of Assam, situated in south bank of river Brahmaputra.[1] Its 28 kilometres from the city of Guwahati.
Education
Around 88% of the local population of Mirza are literate which is a significant number.
Mirza is the educational epicenter of South Kamrup region. There are 2 government colleges, one B.Ed college, 2-3 Private Junior colleges, 7-8 High Schools(Government as well as Private) etc.
A Private Engineering institute NITS Mirza is also located here. It offers Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
Transport
The town is near National Highway 37, and connected to nearby towns and cities with regular buses and other modes of transportation. Mirza Railway station is located south of town, and nearest airport is Guwahati airport.
